Instagram Now Lets You Upload Videos From Your Phone's Gallery

Video on Instagram just got a big upgrade.
Instagram added video functionality to the popular photo-sharing app a little over a month ago, but with version 4.1, launching Wednesday, the app brings with it several new features, including the ability to import video from your phone's gallery.
At launch, Instagram only allowed you to upload video that was recorded within the app. While that worked great when you knew going in you wanted to share a video clip on Instagram, it also meant that you couldn’t share videos you had previously recorded using your phone’s camera.
Now you can import videos from your phone’s library into Instagram and share them with friends. Videos can be square-cropped however you’d like, and since your video clip may be a bit too long, you can trim it down to just the specific portion you’d like to share.
Also, video on Instagram is also now available to Android users running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
On the photo front, iOS users now have access to a new automatic-straightening technology for their photos. A new Straightener icon gives iPhone and iPad users the opportunity to straighten both pictures they’ve taken using Instagram or imported from their camera roll before sharing them.
Instagram 4.1 is available now form the App Store and Google Play.
